Book Review: Dust (Silo #3) by Hugh Howey

First Line:
"Is anyone there?"

Last Line:
"I think we can make any damn thing we like."

Message: the truth will eventually reveal itself if you keep digging and are persistent (literally and metaphorically in this case). Great series, I really enjoyed it!

And so it goes...

Book Review: Shift (Silo #2) by Hugh Howey

First line:
"Troy returned to the land of the living and found himself inside a tomb."

Last line:
"I'd hate for you to hear us coming."

Message: technology keeps developing and making things that simultaneously help and harm us, depending on who is using it. I saw many people on Goodreads asking if they should skip this book, and I agree with those who said don't, you really do need to read this portion of the story. This is where you find out a bit of the "why" and "how" of what has happened to the world.

And so it goes...

Book Review: Wool Omnibus (Silo #1) by Hugh Howey

First Line:
"The children were playing while Holston climbed to his death; he could hear them squealing as only happy children do."

Last Line:
"I think everything's gonna be just fine..."

Message of the book: secrets corrupt, people revolt, we love trashing our planet ourselves, love finds a way, and the book was great but the title is lame (and nobody thought of an elevator?).

And so it goes...
